Jeff Dean presents program to Princeton DAR

PRINCETON — The Princeton chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Feb. 2 for its coffee-time meeting at the Prouty Building.

The program was presented by Jeff Dean, president and CEO of Gateway Services, who informed the group of the new, expanded Bureau and Putnam Area Rural Transit services provided by Gateway.

Regent Sharon Bittner led the ritual with the U.S. flag pledge and the DAR Daughter’s pledge. Eva Blanco read the president general’s message and Lenora Carey gave the National Defense report.

Registrar Patricia Polson welcomed new chapter members Brittany Day, Leslie Gonigam and Jessi Mini.

Bonni Johnson reported on the Illinois Valley PADS shelters in Ottawa and Peru and the Lily PADS resale boutique in Peru.

Commemorative events chairman Beverly Larson displayed the new emancipation proclamation U.S. postage stamps with historical information.

Illinois DAR state conference is April 26-28 in Bloomington. Contact the chapter for reservation information. Sharon Bittner, Eva Blanco and Nancy Gillfillan were elected delegates. Elected alternate delegates are Carol Arteberry, Bonnie Johnson, Marie Roth, Bonnie Schutt, Juanita Tarrence and Beverly Larson.

Members signed Easter cards for the LaSalle Veteran’s Home residents.

Hostesses for the day were Judy Schwiderski, chairman; Karen Schwidereski, Carol Schennum and Beverly Larson.
