Mildred Wiese

SPRING VALLEY — Mildred M. (Hamer) Wiese, 99, of 32009 N. 1360 Road, Spring Valley, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, in her home after a long illness with her caregiver, Ella Ramanofskaya, at her side.

Mrs. Wiese was born Feb. 26, 1913, in Peru to Henry and Christine (Kallner) Hamer. She married Herman J. Wiese on Aug. 8, 1932, in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru. They had one daughter, Lois.

Mrs. Wiese was a life-long member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru. She served for a time as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the hand bell choir, a member of the Ladies Aid and later as a WELCA member and a member of the Reception Committee. Later in life, after her husband passed away, she became a board member on the Illinois Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, a position which she held for several years.
