Panthers power past Wildcats

Putnam County moved on in a big way in the Henry 1A Regional Tuesday, defeating Lowpoint-Washburn 86-31.

All 15 players in uniform for PC scored, headed by Cody Veronda (16 points), Evan Kreiser (9), Wes Allison (9) and Austin Biagini (8).

PC (22-7) will face Streator Woodland (16-10) in semifinal play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Their winner will face Ottawa Marquette (14-14), a 59-53 upset winner over top-seeded Henry Wednesday to earn a spot in Friday’s finals.

Woodland 48, DePue 34: Jon Hayes had 17 points for the Warriors, who enjoyed a 14-6 fourth-quarter advantage. Isaac Reyes paced DePue with nine points and Jesse Lopez and Ivan Mendez had eight each.

At Erie

Indian Creek 61, LaMoille/Ohio 35: Jaron Todd scored 27 points, including eight three-pointers to carry the Timberwolves to victory Tuesday in the resumption of play that was suspended by a power outage at Erie Monday. Brandon Morris led L/O with 12 points.
