NORMAL — Marisa Bland of Spring Valley is serving as the assistant promotions director for Illinois State University’s student radio station, WZND.

As the assistant promotions director, Bland is in charge of designing and executing on air and off air promotions, including managing contests and giveaways. She also supervises WZND’s promotions staff. This is Bland’s second semester at WZND.

Bland, the daughter of Laurie and Bryan Bland, graduated from Hall High School in 2009. She plans on graduating in May with a degree in mass media, promotions and sales, and a minor in theater.
