Bureau County Sheriff


Erik D. Sorenson, 40, of Dover reported he was traveling at 9:46 p.m. Feb. 24 on North Sixth Street, 200 feet south of 1650 North Avenue in Princeton, when an unknown vehicle entered his lane, causing him to swerve and lose control of his vehicle.

Miguel Lopez-Serrato, 52, of DePue was involved in an accident at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18 on the Kentville Road, one-half mile west of Route 29. He was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions and failure to report an accident to authorities.

Diana M. Potthoff, 58, of Spring Valley was involved in an accident at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 19 while traveling on Route 6, one-eighth mile east of 2500 East Street.

Brian C. Webber, 63, of Dover and Jerrome P. Shiffer, 55, of Princeton were involved in an accident at 11:10 p.m. Feb. 21 on Route 6, one-fourth mile west of Interstate 180. Webber was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Stacey M. Cherry, 37, of LaMoille and Alan C. Kitterman, 57, of Sandwich were involved in an accident at 10:27 a.m. Feb. 16 on Main Street in LaMoille.

Maitza Sack, 34, of Spring Valley was involved in an accident at 2:56 p.m. Feb. 26 while traveling on Route 6, one-half mile west of 2300 North Avenue.

Deer accidents

Adam C. Engel, 24, of Peru was traveling at 7:16 p.m. Feb. 23 on the Kentville Road, one-half mile west of 1725 East Street, when his vehicle hit two deer in the road.

Brittany S. Balensiefen, 28, of Sheffield was traveling at 10:10 p.m. Feb. 22 on 1995 East Street, one-half mile west of 1250 North Avenue, when her vehicle hit a deer.

Keri S. Campbell, 41, of Spring Valley was traveling at 4:50 a.m. Feb. 18 on Route 6, at the intersection with 2400 East Street, when her vehicle hit a deer.

Kathy L. Schmidt, 60, of Walnut was traveling at 6:44 p.m. Feb. 25 on 1400 East Street, one-half mile south of 2300 North Avenue, when her vehicle hit a deer.

Illegal consumption of alcohol

Ethan R. Noble, 20, of Dixon was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, zero tolerance, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving with a suspended/ revoked driver’s license, reckless driving and speeding at 2:25 a.m. Feb. 23 while traveling on Route 26, at the intersection of 2075 North Avenue. In the same incident, Blake A. Cullen, 22, of Dixon, Steely G. Williamsen, 25, of Rock Falls, and Alex Linton, 23, of Rock Falls were each charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and illegal transportation of alcohol.


Philip W. Jones, 21, of Tiskilwa was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license and speeding at 1:36 a.m. Feb. 24 in Tiskilwa.
