Story time is held from 5:30 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday in the children’s room at the library. There is a story and craft-related project during this time for preschool through second grade children. A parent must accompany their child. This is free of charge.

The library board meets at 8 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille-Clarion Public Library recently partnered with Illinois Valley Community College Adult Education to bring an online GED study program to the community. The i-Pathways online program is designed to prepare students before taking the GED test. The library, along with local adult education programs, are making several community resource computers available for students enrolled in the program through IVCC. There are specific policies regarding i-Pathways online enrollment and usage. Information or a guided tour of the i-Pathways website is available at the library, located at 81 Main St., LaMoille. Visit online at www.i-pathways.org. Anyone interested in enrolling in the program should contact Cindy Lock of IVCC at 815-224-0358 or visit www.ivcc.edu/adulted/.

The library has joined the OMNI consortium. Patrons can now borrow eBooks through the OMNI website. Patrons must have a valid library card from LaMoille-Clarion Public Library District and be a patron in good standing. Come to the library for a lesson on how to find and borrow items for your Kindle, Nook or other devices. The library  has eReaders to lend. Not sure if you will like using an eReader? This is the perfect way to try one out before you purchase. You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid library card with no outstanding fines or history of fines. Other restrictions may apply. Both of these services are made available with funds from the Eliminate the Digital Divide Grant.

The library is offering online classes through the Microsoft IT Academy. Classes must be started at the library where participants will receive a user login, but may be finished wherever Internet access is available. For more information call 815-638-2356.

The library will offer a class on multimedia in March. The class will cover working with digital photos, music and videos. Anyone interested should call the library at 815- 638-2356. Computer classes are ongoing, so it you haven’t had the opportunity to take advantage of the free classes, there is still time. All materials are furnished. Classes are funded by the Eliminate the Digital Divide Grant.
