KEWANEE — Kevin Strohl has joined the staff of the Family Health Clinic in Kewanee as a nurse practitioner.
Strohl will focus on caring for patients with acute and chronic health conditions, as well as providing education on wellness and prevention.
“The addition of Kevin to our team of providers at the Family Health Clinic will bring a nice balance to our team,” said Dan Congreve, M.D., FACS, medical director of the Family Health Clinic. “His rural Central Illinois roots and recent training will mesh well with our patients.”
Strohl is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., and received a BSN in nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing – Eastern Illinois University Campus in Charleston. He has worked in a variety of settings including neonatal intensive care, adult medical/surgical, and adult intensive care. Strohl also has experience as an instructor in the college setting.
“I have enjoyed getting to know some of the people in the community,” Strohl said of moving to Kewanee. “I come from a small town in Central Illinois, and that is one of the attractions for me - smaller communities are close knit, and the people are caring and friendly. I have found this to be true of Kewanee in the short time I have been here.”
Strohl joins the Family Health Clinic’s Multi-Specialty Group of providers which includes Dr. Dan Congreve, general surgeon, medical director of the Family Health Clinic and chief of staff; Dr. Deb Ewing, family practice; Melinda Shimmin, family nurse practitioner; Tami Harker, family nurse practitioner, board certified in advanced diabetes management and certified diabetes educator; and Melisa Mundwiler, family nurse practitioner.
