PRINCETON — Bureau County 4-H will offer an informational meeting on the 4-H Shooting Sports Program at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Extension office, 850 Thompson St. in Princeton. Advance registration is required. To register, call the Extension office at 815-875-2878. Both parents and youth interested in the program are encouraged to attend.

The 4-H Shooting Sports program offers youth opportunities to learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The activities of the program and the support of caring adult leaders provide young people with opportunities to develop lifeskills, self-worth and conservation ethics.

The meeting will include the program overview and goals; costs; volunteer roles; opportunities available in Bureau County and resources needed; schedules of upcoming programs and registration information; and information on firearms and other equipment used in the program.
