Farm Bureau to hold safety training

KEWANEE — The Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB) and Grain Handling Safety Coalition (GHSC) are partnering to provide grain handling safety training for grain elevator employees, farmers, farm employees and commercial operators. The training is meant to help farmers and employees identify, avoid and eliminate the hazards of handling grain.

The training will be held March 5 at the Black Hawk College Community Education Center, 404 E. Third St., Kewanee. Sessions will be offered at 8 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5 p.m.

The training is being made available through a grant given to the GHSC, and a partnership between the Bureau, Henry and Stark County Farm Bureaus. To receive the grant, county Farm Bureaus were required to form a partnership with other community organizations, be willing to host and sponsor the event, and choose the topics to be covered.
