PRINCETON — Roland L. Johnson, 84, of Princeton passed away at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

Born May 18, 1928, in Dover Township to Conrad and Nina (Peterson) Johnson, he married Verda I. Rabe Nov. 12, 1950, in Princeton. She died June 3, 1993.

He was a graduate of Malden High School and a retired farmer. He was a PFC in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Princeton, the Bureau County Angus Association and the Bureau County Farm Bureau.

Surviving are one son, Ronald (Valerie) Johnson of Princeton; one daughter, Rhonda Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren, Eric (Angie) Johnson of Princeton, Cristin Johnson of Princeton and Brandon Johnson of Princeton; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Vogel, Travis Johnson and Liam Johnson; and one brother, Robert (Marcia) Johnson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Randall Johnson; and two brothers, Lyle and Doug Johnson.

There will be no services. Cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m Friday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.

Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church in Princeton.
