OGLESBY —Postseason play tips off Thursday for the IVCC basketball teams.

The IVCC men (18-10) play at Kishwaukee, 20-9, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday in the first round of the Region IV, Division II playoffs with the winner advancing to Sunday’s 6 p.m. semifinal at IVCC.

Coach Tommy Canale, 104-81 over six seasons, is believed to be the first IVCC coach to achieve six straight winning seasons. Canale’s records are 16-13 in 2007-08, 17-16 in 2008-09, 19-13 in 2009-10, 17-14 in 2010-11, 17-15 in 2011-12 and 18-10 so far in 2012-13. 

IVCC’s women, 21-8 and seconded seeded, host Black Hawk at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The Eagles are led by Eastern Illinois signee Arnisha Thomas who is averaging 19.4 points and 13 rebounds per game. A win will put IVCC in the 6 p.m. Saturday region semifinal at IVCC.
