MALDEN — Dominique Renee Morris of Malden has been crowned Miss Illinois Plus America Teen Ambassador 2013. She will now compete with women from all over the United States for the title of Miss Plus America Elite in July.

“I am proud to represent my state and look forward to speaking to others about my platform, ‘Speaking Out Against Bullying, Bullycide Prevention,’” Dominique said.

The Miss Plus America Pageant system is unlike any other pageant concept. It celebrates the inner beauty of each contestant, as well as recognizing their commitment to their communities. Melissa Stamper, executive director for Coronet Productions says, “Dominique is an ideal candidate for the Miss Plus America Pageant. We are proud to have her as a state titleholder.”

As Miss Illinois Plus America Teen Ambassador 2013, Dominique will have the opportunity to further promote her platform.

“The purpose of my platform is to educate people on the effects bullying has on society today. We need to help people become more aware and force them to take accountability for their actions, hopefully resulting in fewer suicides,” Dominique said. “I have chosen the Pacer Foundation-National Bullying Prevention Center as my charity of choice.”

Dominique, 14, is currently a freshman at Crossroads High School in Tiskilwa. She is sponsored locally by Chelsea Photography, Chelsea Sanchez, of Princeton; Scentsy independent consultant Tiffany Burns of Princeton; Mary Kay Cosmetics independent consultant Kari Malivolti of Lacon; Avon independent sales representative Betty Meznarich of Mendota; and The Big Apple Family Restaurant in Princeton.
