Richard McComber

TISKILWA — Richard Lee McComber, 78, of Tiskilwa passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Colonial Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton.

Born Aug. 27, 1934, in Quincy to Roy and Mary (O’Hara) McComber, he married Betty Morris June 8, 1956, in Tiskilwa. She survives.

He had served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He had worked at the Princeton Sealing Wax Co. for 40 years.

Also surviving are three sons, Rick McComber of Tiskilwa, Mike (Heather) McComber of Tiskilwa and Tim (Lisa) McComber of Highland, Calif.; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob (Ruth) of Arizona and Russ (Sherry) of Iowa; two sisters, Marsha (Jeff) Alison of California and Sue Dillon of Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Todd Krost of the Tiskilwa Community Church officiating. Private interment will be in Mount Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa, at a later date.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to VITAS Hospice, Mount Bloom Cemetery, the Tiskilwa Ambulance Service or the donor's choice.
