PRINCETON – Habanero's Mexican Grill and Cantina restaurant, located on South Main Street in Princeton, caught fire early Wednesday morning.

The fire appeared to have started in the second story of the downtown building. A fireman on the scene this morning said the fire started around 1:30 a.m. Local firefighters were still at the scene around 8:30 a.m. securing the area.

Princeton Police Department blocked off the South Main downtown area, creating a detour for morning commuters.

The fire appeared to have taken most of the roof and backside of the business' building. Firefighters were out inspecting and securing the backside of the building this morning. The front bricks of the building were left blacken by the smoke of the fire. A burning smell surrounded the South Main Street area this morning.

Nearby businesses appeared to be unaffected by the fire, however smoke damage may have occurred in the neighboring businesses.
