KEWANEE — Carol E. Johnson, 61, of Kewanee died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Kewanee Care Home.
She was born Nov. 9, 1951, in Chicago, the daughter of Henry and Lola May (Smith) Curley. She married Jerry A. Johnson.
Carol was of the Lutheran faith. She was a homemaker and had worked in a factory and as a CNA and caregiver.
Survivors include her husband; a son, James (Michelle) Johnson; a daughter, Anita (Dave) Jones; two sisters, Mary (LeRoy) Petty and Sandy Fleming; six grandchildren, Casse and Heather Eilts, Andrea and Gage Jones, David Curley and Dillion Marchang; and four great-grandchildren, Bryson Patterson, Peyton Jones, Emma Curley and Spencer Marchang.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Ronald Mozingo.
Cremation has been accorded and a private memorial graveside will be held Tuesday at the Sheffield Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Rafalko officiating. Friends and family are invited to join the family at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Carol Johnson Memorial Fund and will be accepted by Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee.
