Thought for today: “If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” Anne Dudley Bradstreet.

Thought for tomorrow: “When you see a rattlesnake poised to strike, you do not wait until he has struck before you crush him.” Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Candidates forum: It’s my pleasure to invite each and every one of you to an upcoming Princeton Candidates Forum, set for 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26. The Bureau County Republican and the Princeton Chamber of Commerce will host the event at the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton. Participating in the forum will be the four candidates running for Princeton City Council in the April 9 election.

Please mark your calendars to come and enjoy a light breakfast and learn about the candidates who will ultimately be representing Princeton residents, as the city moves into the future. Candidates are (in alphabetical order) Paul Breseman, Ray Mabry, Terry Madsen and Bob Warren.

Watch my column and the BCR as well as our website — www.bcrnews.com — to learn of other candidate forums we have planned.
