James Twidell

PRINCETON — James Thomas Twidell, 62, of Princeton died at 11:21 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home in rural Princeton.

Born March 1, 1951, in Princeton to George and Margaret (Krager) Twidell, he married Mary Lee Florschuetz Sept. 22, 1973, in Mendota. She survives.

He was a 1969 graduate of Walnut High School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Animal Science from Western Illinois University in Macomb. He farmed for 22 years and raised pure bred Hampshire hogs. He also worked for Nelson Construction and was a finish carpenter for Someone's in the Kitchen in Princeton.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Princeton and Gideons International. He served on the church council and was a Sunday teacher for several years.

Also surviving are his parents, George and Margaret Twidell of Princeton; three daughters, Valerie (Paul) Nelson of Grand Rapids, Mich., Emily (Christopher) Adamow of India and Caroline Twidell of Princeton; five grandchildren, Naomi Twidell, Joshua Nelson, Jedidiah Adamow, Abraham Adamow and Lucille Adamow; three godchildren, Martice Vernon of West Bend, Wis., Emmely Vernon of Princeton and Azeem Hosein of Oglesby; two brothers, David (Ann) Twidell of Conroe, Texas, and Allen (Jodi) Twidell of Walnut; and two sisters, Kay (Greg) Dabler of Wyanet and Lois (Mitchell) Ebanks of Houston, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church, 116 N. Pleasant St., Princeton, with Pastor Norman Femrite officiating. Burial will be in cemetery of the First Baptist Church in Manlius.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Gideons International and World Mission Prayer League.

Pallbearers are Craig Florschuetz, Derek Urban, Azeem Hosein, Martice Vernon, Scott Payne and James Scruggs. Honorary pallbearer is Joseph Diaz.
