Storm, Tigers brush up on their ABCs
STERLING — It was not a school day, but Bureau Valley and Princeton student-athletes brushed up on their ABCs in Saturday’s First Chance ABC track and field meet held at Westwood in Sterling.
The meet was set up in the A-B-C format for the first time with the No. 1 performers from each school competing in the A Division, the No. 2s in the B Division and the No. 3s in the C Division. No team scores were kept.
One of the top performances of the day came from Princeton senior Austen Stewart, who soared 6 feet, 6 inches to win the high jump. PHS coach Dan Foes said “I am very proud of him for the start he has put together this season. The rest of our young team performed very well also against some great competition.”
