Roger Peterson

PRINCETON — Roger E. Peterson, 90, of Princeton passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.

He was born June 7, 1922, in Arispie Township to Oscar and Mary (Anderson) Peterson.

He was a World War II Army veteran stationed in Hawaii. He worked as an auto mechanic.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church of Princeton and was in the Independent order of Odd Fellows, the Bureau County Geneological Society and the Antique Tractor Club.

Surviving are one sister, Joyce DeVore of Urbana; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Gene Vincent officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post 125.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Bureau County Genealogical Society or the donor's choice.
