PRINCETON — LaVerne Joseph Manning, 77, of Princeton passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Margaret's Hospital.

He was born on May 13, 1935, in Thomson, Ill., to Bernard Joseph and Catherine Mary (Haffman) Manning. He attended school in Polo. He married Shirley Whipple in 1957. She passed away in 1991. He then married Norma Johnson in 1993.

He was an over the road truck driver for Auto Buyers, he owned his own milk truck for five years, Illinois Valley Trucking, and eventually retired from Consolidated Freightways in August of 1998. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts and spending time with family.
