LAMOILLE — The LaMoille School Board met Monday night to discuss several issues, including the proposal for the school calendar for 2013-14.

If the proposal passes, school will begin Aug. 16, and spring break will be March 24-28 with students getting a three-day weekend for Easter. The board and co-leaders of the teachers union, Jennifer Williams and Amanda Fisher, agreed to the proposed calendar.

At issue was not only start dates and vacation breaks, but also when and under what circumstances students would be taking ACTs and other national and statewide testing dates. The concern was mostly for what situations would be best for the students, so they have as good of a chance as possible to do well on the tests.
