Obituaries

Bernadine Bartman

KEWANEE — Bernadine C. Bartman, 95, of Kewanee died at 3:44 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Royal Oaks Care Center in Kewanee.

She was born July 15, 1917, in Elgin, Neb., the daughter of Paul and Ann (Tunick) Borgmeyer. She married Leonard C. Bartman on Feb. 6, 1940, in Elgin, Neb. and he preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1978.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie (Gary) Lamb of Kewanee and Linda Richmond of Sanger, Calif.; five grandchildren, Paul Lamb of Kewanee, Kevin Lamb of Essex, Ann (Josh) McIntyre of Davenport, Iowa, Matt (Andrea) Richmond of Clovig, Calif. and Jonah (Heather) Coleman of Fresno, Calif; and six great grandchildren.
 
She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
 
Bernadine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She loved people and always had a special spot in her heart for her grandchildren and her special friend, Teddy, her granddaughter dog.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kewanee. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
 
Memorials may be directed to Hospice Compassus of Galesburg, the Kidney Foundation or to Visitation School.
