Bradford students participate in music contest

BRADFORD — Band and chorus members from Bradford School, along with four other schools, participated in the Stark County School solo and ensemble contest in Wyoming on March 15.

Zachary Piper, with a tuba solo; Emma Slichenmyer with a flute solo and Kendra Selby, Samantha Weir and April Atkins with a clarinet/saxophone trio earned perfect scores.

Students who received a I rating were Kendra Selby, saxophone solo; Samantha Weir, saxophone solo; Gabe Stahl, baritone solo; Emma Slichenmyer, flute solo; Jacob Reay, snare drum solo; Zachary Piper, tuba solo; Mark Painter, trumpet solo; Todd Reay, vocal solo; Emma Slichenmyer and Maggie Rouse, flute duet; Kendra Selby and Samantha Weir, Saxophone duet; April Atkins, Kendra Selby and Samantha Weir, clarinet/saxophone trio; Mark Painter, Chase Stahl and Jessica Wright, trombone trio; and Jenna Ehnle, Faith Moody, Savannah Wall and Jessica Wright, girls vocal double duet.

Students receiving an II rating were Michael Perez, snare drum; Savannah Wall, vocal solo; and April Atkins and Faith Moody, clarinet duet. The band and chorus are directed by Deb Sayers.
