Emily Olson performs with Monmouth Chorale at Carnegie Hall

MONMOUTH — Emily Olson of Princeton, a member of the Monmouth College Chorale, performed a concert with that group on March 25 in New York City’s Carnegie Hall as part of its 2013 spring tour. A freshman communication major, Olson is the daughter of Greg and Susan Olson of Princeton.

A highly selective mixed ensemble, the Chorale has visited nearly half of the states in the country, and internationally, including a tour of Spain in 2012.

At the Carnegie Hall concert, the Chorale performed the Haydn “Lord Nelson Mass” with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and other ensembles, including singers from Knox College, the Galesburg Community Chorus, singers from St. Ambrose University and the Wicker Park Choral Singers. The Chorale also performed a separate concert on March 22 in Manhattan’s exclusive 3 West Club.

The Chorale will present the “Lord Nelson Mass” April 20 in Galesburg’s Central Congregational Church, teaming with the Knox College Choir, the Galesburg Community Choir and professional soloists and members of the Knox-Galesburg Symphony.
