WYANET — JoAnne D. McCauley, 75, of Wyanet died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla.
JoAnne was born June 22, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of Gregory and Aimee (Bouxsein) Doyle. She was united in marriage to Arnold P. McCauley on Dec. 28, 1957, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton.
She was a 1955 graduate of Princeton High School and when her children were grown, she received her associate degree from Sauk Valley Community College. JoAnne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico and the Altar and Rosary Society at the church. She taught music at the Hahnaman School, was a member of the Home Extension and the Centennial Singers in Tampico, was an aide for the Tampico Schools and was choir director at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico. She was a member of the San Pablo Choir which she created and the Island Harmony music group in Marathon, Fla. JoAnne sang at many weddings and funerals in the Tampico area.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold McCauley of Wyanet; her children, Vince (Pamela) McCauley of Dayton, Nev., Anne (Tom) Jackson of Rockford, John (Mary Ann) McCauley of Dyersville, Iowa, and Nora (Steve) Kelly of Tampico; four grandchildren, Hayley JoAnne and Alex Jackson, both of Rockford, and Patrick and Maggie Kelly, both of Tampico; one brother, Peter (June) Doyle of Princeton; one sister, Mary McCauley of Princeton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dick Doyle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. April 4 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Jeffrey Stirniman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation will be April 3 from 3 to 7 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
A memorial has been established to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tampico, St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton and San Pablo Catholic Church in Florida.
