High schools nurture potential

Thank you, Jim Dunn, for donating the Richard Widmark films. Many people are now aware of the acting talent of Richard Widmark because of Jim Dunn’s inspiration and initiative. It is a pleasure getting to know this community of long-standing and new Widmark fans. Frequently the older fans will contribute their own stories and memories of the actor or the films. These recollections make the experience of seeing a local Princeton High School graduate on the screen all the more special.

This momentum and appreciation of Richard Widmark should remind the community of how important our local high schools are in nurturing such potential. Graduates represent the area when they venture out in to the world. Our library will be as thrilled to highlight their accomplishments as we are to highlight Richard Widmark’s.

Richard Widmark was a well-respected and talented actor. I can’t say for certain that was because of where he want to high school, but more than likely his high school years had some influence on the man he became.
