Marini is the choice
On Tuesday, April 9th, voters will decide who is the best candidate to lead the city of Spring Valley for the next four years. Walt Marini is that choice. Walt has been a close friend of my family’s for more than 30 years, and I cannot think of a more humble, honest and qualified individual for the job.
I have had the privilege of working alongside Walt on his campaign for the past seven months and have seen a man with a strong desire to move Spring Valley forward. Walt and his wife, Mary Jane, have been active members in the community for more than 40 years. From volunteering his time on various Hall High School committees and fundraisers to playing an active role at St. Anthony’s Church to serving on the city council for the last 12 years, Walt has dedicated his life to making Spring Valley a better place to live, work and raise a family.
Since relocating to the Chicago suburbs in 2006, I have continued to stay involved in my hometown. Recently, however, some have questioned why I have such an interest in this race. The answer is simple. I am proud to have been born and raised in Spring Valley where my parents, grandmother and sister still live and credit the Spring Valley community for helping shape the individual I am today. Rather than question why someone is willing to work for a cause in our community after moving out of the area, we should encourage people to give back to the community in some way. As a parent, I only hope my children will grow up one day and have as much passion for their hometown as I still have today. Spring Valley is a tremendous community who rallies around their own. Whether it is a benefit for a resident who has an illness or a memorial walk that raises awareness, the residents of this community come together and make me proud to call Spring Valley my hometown.
I ask the voters of Spring Valley to come together and cast their ballots for Walt Marini. He has given back to the city of Spring Valley for more than 40 years and is the candidate that will move Spring Valley forward and make us all proud to call Spring Valley our home. Together, we can make Spring Valley even better.
