STERLING — Bureau Valley’s Ryan Taylor and Logan Hoffert capped the indoor track and field season in the victory lane in Tuesday’s Rosenberry Classic at the Westwood Complex in Sterling.
Taylor won the 800 meters with a time of two minutes, seven seconds, more than a second faster than the closest competitor.
Hoffert turned in the top time of 8.85 to win the 60-meter hurdles. He also claimed second in the 400-meter dash (54.39).
As a team, the Storm finished third (69) behind Erie/Prophetstown (135) and Newman (123). BV’s Conor Mooney placed second in the high jump (5-10) as did the Storm’s 3200 (9:00) and 1600 (3:42.96) relays.
Other top contributors for the Storm were Kane Eastwood, third in the 800 (2:11.7), Justin Buckman, fourth in the shot put (40-11 1/2) and Kristian Konneck, fifth in the 200 (24.29).
St. Bede finished eighth (16) in the nine-team field, with thirds by Michael Slingsby in the shot put (43-5 1/2) and Steve Gualandri in the triple jump (39-10).
