Meeting set

PRINCETON — The Hampshire Woman’s Circle group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Ye Old Underground Inn in Princeton for its dinner and social hour. A few brief reports will be heard. There was no sign-up sheet available at the March gathering but please call April hostess Bonnie Bangert at 815-875-2746 to confirm your attendance.

Auxiliary workshop

PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its April veterans workshop at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Please note the time for this workshop and until further notice. Treats will be needed for the sacks and members are reminded if they signed up to donate food items. For more information, call Clara Pease, VA&R chairman, at 815-872-0430. Bake sale

PRINCETON — A bake sale to benefit 9-year-old Riley Crowe will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Darius Miller Park in Princeton. Ryan was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and was transferred to St. Jude’s in Memphis, Tenn., for six to eight weeks to have chemo and bone marrow testing, among other testing. Proceeds from the event will help with financial issues that may arise while the family is in Tennessee.


WYANET — Bureau Valley Wyanet School will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker. The menu will be rib eyes, butterfly chops, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop.

Jewelry fair

PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will sponsor a jewelry fair fundraiser from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 26 in the hospital’s Medical Office Building lobby. A wide selection of jewelry will be available for purchase and all jewelry items are $5.

All proceeds from this event will be used to benefit Perry Memorial Hospital by enhancing the services and quality of healthcare for everyone served by Perry.
