Donkey basketball

MALDEN — A Buckeye donkey basketball show will be at 7 p.m. today, Saturday, at Malden Grade School. This fundrasier will also include a concession, raffles, a 50/50 drawing and $1 donkey rides at intermission for children 12 and under accompanied by a paying adults. Advance tickets are available at $6 a piece by calling 815-643-2436. Tickets at the door will be $8. There will be a pizza and hot dog dinner before the game from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Vendor bazaar

DALZELL — A spring vendor bazaar will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 at the Dalzell Fire Department. The event will include 30-plus vendors, raffles, a 50/50 drawing and concessions. This is an inside event and will be held rain or shine. Admission is free. IVARs most needed items will also be accepted: Purina blue bag cat show, laundry detergent, canned dog food, paper towels.

Woodcrafters meeting

PRINCETON — Woodcrafters Unlimited will meet Thursday at the Bureau County Senior Center, 16 W. Marion St., Princeton. Show and tell will be at 6:30 p.m. and the regular meeting will be at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in crafts, carpentry, turning, carving or just anything with wood is welcome to attend this or any other meeting. Blood drive

PRINCETON — An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 20 at the Browning Chrysler location, 730 W. Peru St., Princeton. Anyone interested in donating should contact Lori Zeman by calling 815-875-1180 or by email to Walk-ins are also welcome. Those who last gave blood before Feb. 23 are eligible to donate. A photo ID is required.

Townwide sale

SHEFFIELD — Townwide garage sales in Sheffield will be April 27.

Logan graduation

PRINCETON — Logan Junior High School will hold graduation exercises at 7 p.m. May 23 in Prouty Gymnasium at Princeton High School. Family members, friends and the public are invited to attend. People needing handicapped seating are encouraged to arrive early as there is limited seating. No seating reservations will be taken.

Free movie day

PRINCETON — The Princeton Wesleyan Church will host a free family movie day at 2 p.m. April 20 at the church, located at 421 Dover Road in Princeton. The event, which is open to the public, will feature a Veggie Tales double feature. Free popcorn and drinks will also be provided.

Breastfeeding support

PRINCETON — LaLeche League of the Illinois Valley, a breastfeeding support group, will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday in Spring Valley. This monthly group helps mothers gain knowledge and support from other breastfeeding moms. April’s discussion will revolve around, but is not limited to, “Nutrition & Weaning.” Expecting moms are encouraged to attend, as well as new and experienced moms.
