PRINCETON — Mary Pfeifer will bring her “Simply Patsy” show to the Grace Performing Arts Center, 316 S. Main St., Princeton, at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
In “Simply Patsy,” Pfeifer performs the songs of the legendary country music singer Patsy Cline. This year marks the 50th anniversary of her death.
In 2009, Pfeifer played Patsy Cline in the play “Always, Patsy Cline,” which met with outstanding reviews. As a result of that success, Pfeifer started performing her “Simply Patsy” show to a wide variety of audiences. She is entering her fourth season at Starved Rock Lodge in Utica, and has performed at Illinois fairs and festivals.
Passionate about conveying the power of Cline’s music, Pfeifer also provides a glimpse into Cline’s life as a daughter, wife, and performer focused on making her mark in the music world.
“Simply Patsy” is the first of two spring concerts sponsored by Festival 56 at the Grace. The second will be “Heartache Tonight: A tribute to the Eagles” at 7:30 p.m. May 4. Ticket are $18 per person for each show.
Tickets for either the Patsy Cline or Eagles show (or both) can be purchased at the Festival 56 box office at the Grace. Spring box office hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
