Red Devils score 16 on 16 hits

The Hall Red Devils continued their winning ways in a big way Thursday.

The Red Devils scored 16 runs on 16 hits in a five-inning win at Leland behind starting pitcher Taggert Venegas and reliever Miquel Villareal, who combined for a one-hit, 16-0 win. Leading hitters for the Red Devils were Brett Fanning (3-4), Blake Moreno (2-3), Miguel Villarreal (2-4), Petey Mautino (2-4), Ian Trevier (2-4) and Colton Zibert (2-4).

Hall 4, Seneca 1: Austin Schmitt silenced the Seneca Irish Wednesday, throwing a five-hit, 4-1 victory on the road. The junior right-hander fanned four Irish batters and walked two. The Red Devils cracked 10 hits, two each for Venegas, Fanning, Mautino (rbi) and Trevier (rbi).

Bureau Valley 11, LaMoille/Ohio 1: Cody Mattingly’s walk-off double in the fifth inning sent everyone home early at Manlius Wednesday. Winning pitcher Keaton Wagenknecht (three innings) had three RBIs, and McKinley Kruger stroked a three-run homer.

St. Bede 14, IVC 9: The Bruins swept this year’s NCIC series with IVC, defeating the Grey Ghosts for the second time in three days in Chillicothe.

Brandon Pietrowski picked up the win moving his record to 2-0 on the year going four innings. Logan Bima pitched the final three innings to earn the save.

Brad Groleau, Steven Ebener and Austin Schwab (2 rbis) led the Bruin attack with two hits each.

Morrison 17, Bureau Valley 3 (5): The Mustangs pounded out 20 hits, and eight of them drove in runs in a Three Rivers rout in Morrison Thursday.
