Meeting set

LADD — A meeting to plan for Ladd’s 125th anniversary celebration will be at 7 p.m. April 29 in the Ladd Community Center. All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

Ladd garage sales

LADD — Villagewide garage sales in Ladd will be June 1. Residents wishing to be included on the sale map at no additional fee should contact the village clerk’s office at 815-894-2440. The deadline to be added to the map is noon on May 25. Maps will be available on May 29 at Casey’s, North Central Bank, the Ladd Village Hall and online at http://vil.ladd.il.us. Hall Class of 1948 reunion

SPRING VALLEY — A luncheon to celebrate the 65th reunion of the Hall High School Class of 1948 will be at 12:30 p.m. May 18 at The Maples on Shooting Park Road. Reservations are needed by May 10. Senior spelling bee

PRINCETON — The Association of Illinois Senior Centers, the Illinois Department on Aging and the Bureau County Senior Center will host a free Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee competition for area seniors at 10 a.m. May 10 at the Bureau County Senior Center, 16 W. Education night

MENDOTA — The Mendota Lutheran Home will sponsor a free program for family, friends and the community titled “The Family’s Role in Long Term Care,” at 6 p.m. April 25 in the activity room of the home. Carol Krancic, a teacher at I.V.C.C., therapeutic dementia care specialist and caregiver support counselor, will be the presenter. The process involved in long-term care placement can be overwhelming and Krancic will help with some of the questions, policies and procedures regarding what residents and families can expect. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited.
