Tigers sweep the Storm
MANLIUS — Strong winds blew at Bureau Valley Saturday, but they did not blow favorably for the Storm baseball team. A combination of strong hitting and pitching enabled the Princeton Tigers to blow by the Storm for doubleheader sweep.
The Tigers cracked 10 hits and rode the shutout pitching of starter Caleb Dickens and reliever Matt Hayes to a 9-0 win in Game 1. Three PHS pitchers stymied the Storm once again in the second inning with the Tigers completing the sweep 5-2.
“Bureau Valley has a nice team. They did a good job working all the angles on hitting as well as pitching. We just happened to have the better day,” PHS coach Tim Taylor said.
