PRINCETON — The jury trial has been rescheduled for Ryan Luecke, the 30-year-old Peru man accused of having sexual contact with a male child while Luecke was employed by the Bureau County Metro Center in Princeton.
Luecke appeared Wednesday afternoon in Bureau County Court for a pre-trial hearing before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei. Luecke was represented in court by Peru attorney John Fisher who requested the continuance of Wednesday’s pretrial hearing to give him more time to gather additional materials and information for the jury trial.
Bureau County First Assistant State’s Attorney Anthony Sciuto had no objections to the continuance.
The judge continued Wednesday’s pre-trial hearing to 9 a.m. June 12. The jury trial was rescheduled from April 29 to 9 a.m. June 24.
Luecke pleaded not guilty on Dec. 18, 2012, to the Class 2 felony of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He is accused of allegedly having a sexual contact with a male juvenile during the 2012 summer camp at the Metro Center, at which time Luecke was recreation coordinator for the Metro Center.
According to the Dec. 11, 2012, grand jury indictment, Luecke is accused of having a child under the age of 13 fondle him (Luecke) over the clothing between May 1 and Aug. 24. Luecke is free from custody, having posted 10 percent of a $25,000 bond.
If convicted of the Class 2 felony, Luecke could be sentenced to three to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and fined up to $25,000. The Class 2 felony is also a probational offense, which could include up to six months in the Bureau County Jail.
