Clean-up day

SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley Clean Up Day, sponsored by the Spring Valley Boosters, will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Those interested should sign up at Kirby Park. Garbage bags, security vests and plastic gloves will be provided. Individuals, families, businesses and organizations are invited to participate. For information, call 815-303-4327.

Community coffee

SHEFFIELD — The First United Church of Christ in Sheffield will host its monthly community coffee from 7 to 10 a.m. May 4 at the UCC Parish Hall. Fresh-baked cinnamon rolls will be served.

Yoga classes

SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley Park Board continues to sponsor sunrise yoga at the Spring Valley City Hall Community Room for the month of May. Classes are from 5:45 to 7 a.m. Monday and Wednesday. The cost is $5 per class or $35 for the month. For information, call Karry Kurtz at 815-830-1664.

CWU gathering

PRINCETON — To help celebrate May Friendship Celebration, area women are invited to join Church Women United at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton. The theme is “Swinging Wide the Doors of Hospitality.”

Reunion planned

WYANET — The Wyanet High School Class of 1963 will have its 50th reunion July 13, during the Wyanet Festival weekend, at Wise Guys in Princeton. The classes of 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1964 are also invited to attend. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m. The Class of 1963 will also participate in the Wyanet Festival parade at 1 p.m. July 13. Those who want to help decorate the float will meet at Sheila’s house at 9:30 a.m. the morning of the parade. For more information, call Sheila at 815-878-7721.

Wine tasting evening

PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital Foundation will host a wine tasting evening from 6 to 9 p.m. May 10 at A Hundred Acres Orchard and Market in Princeton. The event will include wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres with music provided by the “River City String Trio”. Tickets are $50 per person.
