LADD — A meeting to plan for Ladd’s 125th anniversary celebration will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the Ladd Community Center. All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
LADD — Heart of Illinois Blue Star Mothers will host a fundraiser for the troops from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Rip’s in Ladd. Anyone who brings something for the troops will receive a free dessert. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a bake sale.
PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans Group will begin accepting donations of good, used items for an upcoming rummage sale in June. Anyone with items to donate should contact Brad Oeder at 815-866-9349 or the American Legion Post at 815-872-1171 and leave a message. Arrangements can be made to pick up larger donations such as couches, TVs, tables/chairs, computers, etc. Small kitchen appliances will be accepted if in good working order. This is a major fundraiser for the group.
PRINCETON — Professional Home Economists of Bureau County will meet on Tuesday. Members and friends should meet at 4:30 p.m. at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton to car pool to Dixon. The annual meeting and dinner will be held at Touch of Thai. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy Ronald Reagan sights and the riverfront. PRINCETON — American Legion Post 125 of Princeton is asking those who have borrowed hospital equipment to return items A.S.A.P. if no longer needed — wheelchairs especially. Items may be left in the Legion vestibule with a return address label or a note with the name on the item.
Be the Match registry
PRINCETON — Bureau County Thrivent Chapter will sponsor a “Be the Match” registry from 9 a.m. to noon May 4 at the Bureau County Metro Center, 837 Park Ave. West in Princeton. To join the drive, volunteers need to be between the ages of 18 and 44 and be willing to donate to any patient in need and meet the health guidelines. The registry takes only 10 minutes as volunteers fill out a questionnaire and swab their cheeks with a Q-tip.
PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilter’s Guild will meet at 7 p.m. May 2 at Christ Community Church, 1719 Euclid Ave. Guests are welcome to attend for a fee of $5. The program will be judging of challenge quilts and the awards. There will be no speaker or workshop this month.
