Kickoff event

PRINCETON — Bureau County Relay For Life will hold its kick off event at 7 p.m. Thursday at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton. Anyone who has been touched by cancer is welcome to attend. There is no cost.

Meeting set

WYANET — The Wyanet Historical Society will have its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the historical hall.

Breakfast planned

LAMOILLE — The Relay for Life Road Runners team will sponsor a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the LaMoille Lions Club, 308 Howard St. This all-you-can-eat breakfast will feature “Nuco’s” sausage, ham, pancakes, eggs, toast and beverage. Tickets are $6 adults, $4 for ages 6-10. Carry-outs are available. Tickets will be sold at the door. A bake sale will also be held. All proceeds are donated to the Relay for Life of Bureau County.

Red Hats event

PRINCETON — The Princeton Red Hats will celebrate Kentucky Derby Day at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Princeton Elks Lodge. The best hat will win lunch.

Spring show

PRINCETON — Just For Kix will host its spring show at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Prouty Gym. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students. This event is open to the public. Just For Kix will also host a registration for new and current dancers from 5 to 7 p.m. May 2 at the studio, located above Johnson’s Carpet. Open house

SHEFFIELD — WUNT, Bureau County’s newest Christian radio station, will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the studio, 115 N. Main St. in Sheffield. The public is invited to see the new digital facility, take a tour and record a greeting to be used on the air. The station, 88.3FM, has been on the air since April 24.

Meditation event

UTICA — Lama Lena will present the “Secret Oral Teachings of Tibet” Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 5 p.m. and again Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Utica Township Community Building on the corner of Church and Mill streets. These teachings are a method of meditation and enlightenment for the lay person to practice in order to experience the realization on oneness with all existence.
