Obituaries

John Weber

BARTLETT — John C. Weber, 56, of Bartlett, formerly of Sheffield, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Hospice Care in Crystal Lake.

John was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Kewanee, the son of Clarence J. “Jack” Weber Jr. and Darleen Langhoff Weber. He graduated from Western High School in 1974 and attended Western Illinois University. He married Deborah Kopp on Nov. 9, 1985, in Sheffield. She survives. John had worked at Butler Co. in Peoria and then at the Chicago Stock Exchange. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, hockey and entertaining with humor.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Weber; his mother, Darleen Weber of Sheffield; three sisters, Gretchen Weber of Chicago, Kristin (Mike) Wagner of Troy, Ill., and Anne (Dave) Cook of Coon Rapids, Minn.; and one brother, Ronald (Tammra) Weber of Prairie Grove, Ill. Also surviving are nephews and nieces, August Wagner, Matthew and Nathan Cook, Scott Weber and Nicole Egan, Tyler and Travis Vandermeersch, and Justin and Julia Kopp; and an aunt and uncle, Jean and Ken Zimmerman of Palatine. John is also survived by his beloved parrot, Johnson, who now is in the loving care of special friends Mark and Sue Raleigh and their dog, Mabel.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the First United Church of Christ, Sheffield, with the Rev. Jane Courtright officiating. Private inurnment services will be held at Sheffield Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Church of Christ in Sheffield or to the John Weber Memorial Fund to be used to benefit wildlife.
