‘Later we will be silenced’

In response to Thomas Newby’s “Teaching faith”... Religion is being taught in our public schools! The religion of evolution. Evolution asks the same questions as religion. 1. Telling us where we came from. Accidents from the evolutionary process. 2. Explaining what we are. A random collection of matter. 3. Where we are going? Nothing beyond the grave. 4. And what we should do along the way. Kill or be killed.

It asks all the right questions and has its own answers. Evolution is a world view. It influences the realm of politics, ethics, morality, economics and medicine, etc. It touches on everything. And this has moral and ethical implications, not just for the evolutionist but for the Christian as well. It is a religion embraced by atheists.

Evolution and Creation are both faith based. Let the schools do what they do best? Hum, let’s keep the Christians in the closet and Christian morals and principles out of our government and schools.

He said God is allowed in our schools. It sounds just like the God that is allowed in Communist countries. Go ahead and believe, but don’t let us hear about it, and the consequences aren’t pretty if you do. Throughout the world there have been more Christians martyred for their faith in the past 100 years than the previous 1,900 put together. Our student might be the only Jesus that some people ever see? There was a saying in the past, “seen but not heard.”

In response to “God cannot be kept out — who forgot to bring Him in?” It was our founding fathers who not only brought Him in but insisted upon it, as I will show in my next Letter to the Editor as well as the topic of courage. My statement wasn’t who forgot to bring Him in, it was who kicked Him out!

How many of hundreds of thousands have died out on the fields in other lands for our freedom of speech? They fought and died by the weapons of physical warfare. The Bible says, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.”

If we are silent now because of our indifference or ignorance and apathy, later we will be silenced in a much more hideous way.

The word of God is sharper than any double edge sword ( Hebrews ) as the following verses illustrate. This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the Lord. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. (Jeremiah)
