PRINCETON — The Prairie Arts Council will offer a four-week oil painting class focusing on the art of painting flowers.
The class will be held at the Prairie Arts Center, 24 Park Ave. East in Princeton, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, beginning May 13 and running through June 10. There will be no class on Memorial Day.
Students will complete a floral painting on a 16-by-20-inch canvas. This class is intended for the beginner to intermediate level. Students should have previous oil painting experience.
Lorrayne Cabral, who was recently featured in the Illinois Valley Living, Spring 2013 magazine, will teach this class. She has been painting floral pictures for more than 20 years and has mastered the art of painting flowers. She enjoys sharing and teaching what she learned from American floral painter Gary Jenkins, who has published many art books and instructional videos on the art of floral and landscape painting.
