PRINCETON — A hands-on floral design workshop will be offered at the Prairie Arts Center, 24 Park Ave. East in Princeton, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. May 16.
This workshop will teach the fundamentals for putting together a well designed silk floral arrangement. Students will complete a small floral design of their own to take home. As a bonus, students will have an opportunity to make and take home a professional looking bow to use in any floral arrangement or wreath. Wire-edged ribbon will be furnished. This class is for high school age and adults. The cost is $18 for PAC members and $20 for non-members.
Students are asked to bring a 4- to 6-inch container and other items they would like to use in their design. However, these items will also be available to purchase from the instructor for a small fee.
The instructor will be Jane Ousec. She has been a fine craft artist for more than 30 years. She trained as a floral designer at the American Floral Art School in Chicago.
To register, call the Prairie Arts Center at 815-875-2787. Class size is limited. The registration deadline is May 11.
