Bureau Valley High School art students, under the direction of art instructor Sheila L. Heth, recently attended the Trac 9 Art Festival at Riverdale. While at the conference, students participated in a performance of Leonardo by theatrical impersonator Scott Shepherd, as well as having their artworks judged along students from seven high schools in 20 different categories. Art students with their work include include (front row, from left) Rachel Brummel, honorable mention in colored pencil; Hope Wollerman, second in acrylic portrait and third in photography; Lily Gould, second in collage, second in mixed media and third in acrylic portrait; and (back row) Christy Williams, second in collage; Jackie Phillips, second in ceramics; Amber Shipp; first in pencil portrait and second in photography; Samantha Krieger, second in oil pastel, second in oil painting, third in sculpture and an honorable mention in acrylic painting; Daniel Trone, second in oil pastel and second in ink and marker; and Federico Papa, honorable mention in pencil portrait. All of their work in on display at BVHS.
