Bureau County Sheriff


Geoffrey A. Cichy, 50, of Palos Heights was involved in a single-vehicle accident at 3:02 p.m. May 3 on Lake Thunderbird Drive, one-fourth mile north of 425 North Avenue in Wheatland Township.

A 16-year-old rural Wyanet boy and Jeffrey Giese, 36, of Kewanee were involved in a two-vehicle accident at 3:49 p.m. April 30 on 1400 East Street, one mile north of 1950 North Avenue in Bureau Township.

Edwin J. Iocca, 18, of Princeton was involved in a single-vehicle accident at 11:15 p.m. May 2 while traveling on 1610 North Avenue, one mile east of 1600 East Street in Wyanet Township.

Deer accidents

Morgan M. Hageman, 19, of Henry was traveling at 8:23 p.m. May 1 on Interstate 180, one-half mile north of Route 29 in Arispie Township, when her vehicle hit a deer.


Dianna L. Olson, 50, of Walnut was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with improper lane usage at 11:07 p.m. May 4 while traveling on Route 92, one-fourth mile west of 1000 East Street.

Brian G. Weinzerl, 57, of Wyoming, Ill., was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 2:09 p.m. May 5 while traveling on South Third Street in Mineral.
