Borrowed items

PRINCETON — American Legion Post 125 of Princeton is asking those folks who have borrowed hospital equipment to return same ASAP if no longer needed. Wheelchairs especially need to be returned. Items may be left in the vestibule of the Legion with a return address label or a note the name on the item returned.

Breastfeeding support

SPRING VALLEY — La Leche League of the Illinois Valley, a breastfeeding support group, will meet at 10 a.m. May 16 in Spring Valley. This monthly group helps mothers gain knowledge and support from other breastfeeding moms. May’s discussion will revolve around “The Advantages of Breastfeeding.” Expecting moms are encouraged to attend, as well as new and experienced moms. Benefit planned

LADD — The fourth annual “Texas B.B.Q.” will be from 4 to 8 p.m. May 17 at the Ladd Community Building. The menu includes brisket, barbecued chicken, roast pork, baked beans, Cole slaw, potatoes, dessert and beverage. The event is a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to conduct research and support the programs that improve and extend lives of those with Cystic Fibrosis. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 7-12. Reservations are not necessary, but appreciated. For advanced tickets, call 815-894-2936.

Cookout on Saturday

WYANET — Wyanet Youth Baseball will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Wyanet Locker. The menu will include rib eyes, butterfly chops, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop.

Car cruise

SUBLETTE — The annual Sublette Cruise ‘n Show will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday on Main Street in downtown Sublette. Participants are invited to exhibit antique, class, or special interest cars, trucks, motorcycles or tractors. There is no entry fee and there will be no judging.
