WALNUT — Glenda M. Shurson, 74, of Walnut died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at her home.
Glenda was born on Nov. 15, 1938, in Walnut, the daughter of Vance and Fern (Glafka) Plapp. She was united in marriage to Allen Shurson on June 30, 1957, at the First Lutheran Church of Ohio.
She worked at Citizens First State Bank for many years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Ohio, where she was the choir director for many years and a very active member of the Rebecca Circle.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Shurson of Walnut; one son, Craig (Missy) Shurson of Franklin Grove; one daughter, Dina (fiancé Rand Childers) Garland of Dixon; one granddaughter, Hannah; one great-grandson, Payton; six stepgrandchildren; one brother, Nile (Cathy) Plapp of Savage, Minn.; one sister, Kay Shurson of Shoreview, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church of Ohio with the Rev. Brenda Lovick, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Manlius, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
