A 1940s photo from the Museum on Main’s collection shows one of the earliest cabins in Tiskilwa. This small but sturdy structure, demolished circa 1948, stood for more than 100 years as a testament to the hardy nature of the early European pioneers. On Monday evening, Carolyn Workman of Princeton will guide her audience along a pictorial journey through Bureau County’s early history, with a special focus on Tiskilwa’s role from the 1800s to the 1840s. The program begins at 7 p.m. in the Museum on Main, 110 E. Main St. in Tiskilwa.
