Ladd American Legion Auxiliary meets

LADD — Ladd American Legion Auxiliary members met on April 23. President Sandy Dunseth reported the 16th District awarded the Auxiliary with a “Certificate of Goal” for meeting their membership goal.

Membership chairman Marilyn Pavinato reported the group has 43 paid members. She also reported junior members have collected and have now sent in more than $10,000 in coupons for the Wounded Warriors program in March and April.

The winners of the Americanism essay contest were present and read their essays on “the First Amendment.” Michael Manning received first place and tied for second were Michael McCutcheon and Makenzie Walk.

The poppy poster contest has been completed and winners will receive a monetary award at the Ladd Grade School awards day. Posters can be viewed at Ladd and Bureau businesses and post offices.

There will be a chicken dinner fundraiser again at Rips on Sept. 8.

Tickets are available by contacting any Auxiliary member.

The group’s next meeting will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday with a catered dinner at the Legion Hall with hosted by Sandy Dunseth and Virginia McNally.
