MINERAL — Mary Emma Donahue, 86, of Mineral passed away Friday, April 12, 2013, at North Shore University Hospital in Evanston.
Born May 15, 1926, in Nelson County, Ky., the daughter of George Russell and Mary Ethel Clark, she married Patrick Augustine Donahue on Nov. 24, 1941, at Holy Cross Church in Holy Cross, Ky. He died Dec. 17, 1999.
She raised eight children and worked as a restaurant cook and homemaker.
Surviving are four daughters, Mary Patricia (Joseph) Wathen of Louisville, Ky., Fidelma Ann Donahue of Williamsburg, Va., Frances Emily (George) De Ford of Streamwood and Sheila Joan Donahue of Evanston; three sons, Joseph Edward (Linda) Donahue of Princeton, Timothy Patrick (Dorothy) Donahue of Chicago and Mark Anthony (Raeann) Donahue of Freeport; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Donahue of Magnolia, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Mary Susan Richmond, Mary Mildred Brown and Myles Kenneth, all of Louisville, Ky., James Russell “Joseph” of New Haven, Ky., and George Russell Jr. of Bardstown, Ky.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, James David; one sister, Mary Elizabeth; and two brothers, Joseph Lewis and Joseph Leon.
A private service will be held May 28 at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
