Our family (Blanche, Niel and Helen Hewitt) want to thank the volunteer firefighters of the Sheffield and Buda fire departments and emergency unit for their immediate response to our 9-1-1 call at our home in Sheffield (5:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, March 31) regarding our smoke-filled home.
Their caring and professional handling of the matter especially was comforting to our 104-year-old mother, Blanche. We especially want to thank cousin, Tim Hewitt, and his son, Austin, for instantly coming to our aide and summoning the fire department volunteers. Also, our love and thanks to Robin Hewitt for taking care of the three of us by placing us in her car and out of the smoke and away from any danger. Our neighbor, Donna, helped calm our nerves by providing us with her caring (cold glasses of milk and cookies).
We will always be grateful for these wonderful friends and neighbors and want to remind people to support these volunteers. Our thoughts are prayers are with all of you, and we’ll always be grateful for helping us in our emergency Easter morning. It truly became a blessed morning for us.
